UPDATE 10:43AM CST: G4tv is now reporting both studio heads, president Jason West and CEO Vince Zampella, have left Infinity Ward. There has been no official comment from either company.

UPDATE 6:40AM CST: As the evening went on, it seems a little more light has been shed on the situation at Infinity Ward. A screenshot allegedly from Jason West’s Facebook account popped up over at Kotaku and was subsequently verified by Klepek from G4tv as being genuine, as well as an image grab from his LinkedIn account showing his employment at Infinity Ward ending in March 2010.

It can be seen below:

In addition, G4tv also got their hands on a SEC filing made earlier yesterday that highlights a human resources investigation for “breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward.”

This situation just keeps getting crazier. Based on what information we have, it looks like Jason West may no longer be employed at Infinity Ward, and though we have no confirmation, Vince Zampella may be the other employee mentioned by the SEC filing.

We will bring you more information as it comes available.

ORIGINAL STORY: Adding to the weirdness of the last 24 hours, G4tv is now reporting disturbing news from the Infinity Ward studios late tonight. A source from Infinity Ward contacted Patrick Klepek, G4tv’s news editor, and allegedly told him that a “bunch of bouncer-types” have arrived outside the Infinity Ward offices without advance notice. The plain-clothes “bouncers” refused to answer why they were there when asked by Infinity Ward employees. Klepek further reported:

No other site is reporting any first-hand reports from the scene at this time, but if this situation is true, gamers could have cause to be concerned. As most of you know, Infinity Ward has been the main development house for the Call of Duty series, including both Modern Warfare titles. What do you think? Strange PR stunt to offset Bad Company 2’s release? Or could we be seeing the end of Infinity Ward’s relationship with Activision?

Infinity Ward studio heads Vince Zampella and Jason West reportedly met with Activision this morning and have not been seen by Infinity Ward staff members since. My source did not delve into specifics, but described the relationship between Infinity Ward and Activision lately as “tense.” The mood around the Infinity Ward offices is currently described as “freaked out” and “confused.” “We just wanna make our games,” said my source.

We’ll bring you further clarification as we receive it.
