LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is the UK’s new No.1 video game, becoming the eighth LEGO title to do so, reports Chart-Track.

The game goes one better than Marvel Super Heroes, which had to settle for a high of second because of Call of Duty: Ghosts. This time, LEGO comes out on top of Call of Duty, with Black Ops 3 dropping into second place despite retailer price cuts helping the game achieve a 54 per cent week-on-week bump in sales. LEGO Marvel’s Avengers also ends Black Ops 3’s seven week run at the top.

FIFA 16 takes third, Rainbow Six Siege is at fourth and Star Wars Battlefront sits in fifth spot. GTA 5 is down three places to sixth and Just Cause 3 climbs one place to seventh.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain also benefits from retail promotions, with sales doubling and re-entering the Top 10 at No.8.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Explorers is new at No.11, whilst Milestone’s Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo debuts at No.26.
