Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has entered the UK Video Game Chart at No.1, setting a new sales record for the franchise.
Chart-Track notes that “in terms of debut week sales Uncharted 4 is by far the most successful launch in the series beating Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception debut week by 66%”.
Sony has now held the UK No.1 in three of the last four weeks, two of which were achieved by Ratchet & Clank – now at No.4.
Doom is new at No.2, also making a strong debut with launch sales up 67 per cent on Doom 3. 56% of sales came on PS4, 38% on Xbox One and 5% on PC, though most PC sales will have come digitally.
Elsewhere, 2K’s Battleborn failed to hold on against the wave of big new releases, slipping from No.1 all the way down to No.12. Gearbox will now be hoping for a long tail if sales are to come anywhere close to matching that of Borderlands.

Homefront: The Revolution launches on Friday and sees the return of the shooter franchise which began back at THQ in 2011. Now in the hands of Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios, a No.1 spot will be the target, though sales could be dampened by the ongoing popularity of Uncharted 4 and FPS rival Doom.
