Rockstar Games is celebrating after Red Dead Redemption entered the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart at No.1, becoming the 11th best-selling new release of all time. It’s also Rockstar’s first No.1 since the release of GTA 4 back in week 18 of 2008.
EA’s 2010 FIFA World Cup slips one place to No.2, while Ubisoft’s Just Dance manages to climb one place to No.3. Wii Fit Plus is up five places to No.4 and Disney’s Split/Second makes a solid start at No.5.
Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia – released across multiple formats – could only manage ninth position and Sony’s ModNation Racers might be considered a disappointment at No.10.
There’s no let up in new releases, with Friday looking even busier than the week just gone. Look out for Blur, UFC Undisputed 2010, Alpha Protocol, No More Heroes 2, Pure Football and Clash of the Titans in stores, but we only fancy Blur and UF as real contenders for the top spot.
