GfK ChartTrack reports that Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption has held on to the UK video game chart No.1 spot, despite a 40 per cent drop in sales.
The gun-slinging sandbox title has been widely reported to be suffering from stock shortages, but managed to fend off the challenge from THQ’s UFC 2010: Undisputed. The multi-discipline martial arts brawler had to settle for second place.
It’s not such good news for the week’s other new releases: SEGA’s Alpha Protocol begins at No.13, one better than Activision’s Blur which disappoints at No.14. Movie tie-in, Clash of the Titans (the movie’s been and gone) sneaks into the Top 40 at No.37.
With SBK X and The Sims 3 Ambitions expansion Friday’s highlights, expect the current batch of chart toppers to jostle for position next week.
