Warner’s LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, has entered the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart at No.1, preventing Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption from spending a sixth week as top dog.
The week’s second highest new entry is 505 Games’ Naughty Bear which makes an unexpected start at No.5. The misbehaving bear is followed closely by ultra hardcore action-RPG Demon’s Souls; the PS3 exclusive looks set to replicate its success in North America with a UK debut at No.6.
Rather surprisingly, Activision’s Transformers: War for Cybertron can only manage eighth place, but this is a massive success in relation to Activision stable mate Singularity. The sci-fi FPS struggled in its first week, just about making the Top 40 at No.38.
It’s hard to imagine any new release will have the pull to topple LEGO Harry Potter, but Friday’s biggest games include Sniper: Ghost Warrior, All Points Bulletin (APB), Tournament of Legends and Tiger Woods: PGA Tour 11. The latter is our best bet for a Top 5 place.
