Evolve is the UK’s new No.1 selling video game, becoming 2K’s first No.1 since BioShock Infinite in March 2013.
Some of that marketing spend geared towards Xbox also appears to have paid off with the Xbox One version coming out on top, albeit by only 400 units over the PS4 edition. PC accounted for just 3 per cent of retail sales.
Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D is new at No.2, while Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate takes No.4, each helped by a 57 per cent boost in hardware sales thanks to the New 3DS and New 3DS XL. Monster Hunter in particular has impressed, with week one sales up 95 per cent compared to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.
Retailer promotions on Far Cry 4 also helped the open-world shooter move up two places to No.7.

Evolve’s stay at the top is likely to be short-lived with PS4 exclusive The Order: 1886 hitting stores on Friday. We’re yet to see reviews, but the visuals alone look good enough to ensure strong sales, at least for the first week.
