SEGA and Rebellion’s Aliens Vs Predator has entered the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart at No.1, becoming 2010’s fastest-selling game so far.
BioShock 2, last week’s No.1, sees sales drop 71 per cent and slides two places to No.3. Bridging the gap at No.2 is Ubisoft’s Just Dance, which recorded a 55 per cent increase in sales over the school half-term week.
Half-term also appears to have given boosts to New Super Mario Bros. Wii (up 59 per cent), and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (up 76 per cent), although the latter also has coverage of the actual Olympic Winter Games to thank.
The Games also help SEGA’s Vancouver 2010 into the Top 40 for the first time, with a huge 274 per cent increase in sales not quite enough for a Top 10 place.
Friday’s big release is Sony’s PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain, but it won’t have everything its own way. Also hitting stores are SEGA duo Napoleon: Total War and Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing.
