ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove! is the long-awaited fourth entry in the once-popular series. This is an adventure rogue-lite that also allows for casual play, being far less punishing than other titles in the sub-genre. The game received positive reviews from players and critics alike upon release and is a great game for short play sessions.

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter

This one is a bit of surprise to see gifted away to Prime members because it is still quite expensive across all platforms. In fact, Steam has it currently listed at $54.99 CDN. Boasting a mixture of investigation, action, and exploration, The Devil’s Daughter received mostly positive praise when it came out. The game boasts the ability to freely explore the various neighborhoods in a city and players are largely free to determine where they’ll go next.

Hover

Hover features a mixture of parkour with a cyberpunk aesthetic. The goal is to overthrow a tyrannical organization that is working towards becoming anti-leisure. The story is ridiculous and paper-thin, but the bright colors and look of the game make one think they are in an original episode of ReBoot!

When Ski Lifts Go Wrong

Construction Puzzler games can often be great fun when they force creativity to solve ridiculous problems. When Ski Lifts Go Wrong perfectly embodies the extreme ridiculousness of the genre. This can be a ridiculously fun game when players are doing their best to help each passenger make it safely to their destination.

Hue

Few games look so beautiful with such simplicity, but Hue nails the mark from the beginning. At its core, the game is a challenging puzzle-adventure, but the use of colors and level design quickly makes the game a classic that everyone can (and should) enjoy.
