Today DMM and Koei Tecmo had a few treats to share with those eagerly awaiting the upcoming Musou game Touken Ranbu Warriors.

First of all, we get a new trailer introducing Yamanbagiri Chougi and showing him in action.

It’s the latest of a series of trailers introducing several characters, on top of Ichigo Hitofuri, Namazuo Toushirou, Hyuuga Masamune, Heshikiri Hasebe, Yagen Toushirou, Tomoegata Naginata, Tsurumaru Kuninaga, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, and Ookurikara.

Nex, we got a livestream that showcased plenty of gameplay showcasing minigames, battle, modes, and more.

DLC information was also revealed, which will include additional main menu backgrounds, costumes (which we see in action), and music.

The season pass will include 5 backgrounds, 5 songs, and 16 costumes that will be delivered until the end of April 2022 in Japan. At the moment, we don’t know the release schedule for the west.

Last, but not least, a demo will be released (in Japanese for now) on the Nintendo eShop tomorrow, February 3. We don’t know when the English version will come (or whether it’ll come at all) but at least you can try the game in Japanese.

Here’s how Koei Tecmo officially describes Touken Ranbu Warriors. You can also watch the latest gameplay trailer.

If you’re not familiar with the game, it was announced back in August by DMM and it’ll come west directly via Koei Tecmo on May 24, 2022. Touken Ranbu is a popular franchise based on a PC browser game mostly aimed at an audience of ladies in which the player travels to the past and collects legendary swords represented by handsome young men.

The franchise has sparked multiple anime series, a live-action movie, and other media.

This new game is developed by Omega Force, known for its work on Warriors games, and Ruby Party, Koei Tecmo’s otome games brand (Otome games are visual novels usually featuring harems of handsome men aimed to an audience of ladies, like Touken Ranbu).

At the moment, the game appears to be coming only for Switch in the west, the PC version in Japan uses DMM’s own client which is not available in North America and Europe.
