There’s a mobile RTS game coming out in Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy Universe, but for now, you’ll only be able to get it in the Google Play Store. Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad merges characters from all of Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy games into one single RTS/RPG hybrid. Players will be able to build a squad made up of characters from Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell and more.

It’s not just the main or most iconic characters, like Sam Fisher and Caveira, that you’ll be able to choose from, either – though they’ll certainly be available. You’ll also be able to use other side characters, such as Splinter Cell’s Isaac Briggs or Rainbow Six Siege’s Tachanka.

These characters will be used in 5 vs. 5 real-time battles, both as part of a single player story campaign or against other player-controlled squads.

The game was revealed during E3 last year, and there hasn’t been much revealed about the gameplay since then. However, what glimpses we get of the trailer implies that it’ll be a tactical affair - very much in line with the more recent XCOM games.

The visuals are a bit off-the-beaten-path, as far as Tom Clancy games go. Its graphics seem more reminiscent of Square Enix’s stylized Lara Croft Go and Hitman Go games, rather than anything out of the Tom Clancy library. That’ll probably help the game run well on lower-end phones, but anyone who enjoys the more-realistic look of the games Elite Squad is based on may find it a bit off-putting.

Players who pre-register for the game will get access to Walker from Ghost Recon Breakpoint. You can pre-register on EliteSquadGame.com, with options available to register for both the Android version ofthe game and the later-to-be-released iOS game.

No official information about the release date has been made publicly available, save for the fact that it’ll be released sometime “this year,” with some countries getting the game before others. We’ll just have to wait and see when we’ll be able to get our hands on this one.
