You’ve raced over the tops of oversized clock faces in Mario Kart 8, and now things are coming full circle. Yes, Nintendo has revealed a new collaboration with luxury watch brand TAG Heuer. As shared via Nintendo of America’s own Twitter, this latest foray into the world of Mario inspired timepieces introduces us to two new watches. The first is the standard Chronograph, which is limited to 3000 pieces. This watch features several Mario Kart references across its face, including icons of Power Stars and the like where you would usually see the date showing up....

During the presentation here (as spotted by GamesRadar) in which THQ Nordic CEO Lars Wingfors looks to the slate of releases on the company’s books over the near future, Dead Island 2 gets a brief mention as still being worked on by the company, telling those gathered to ‘stay tuned’ for more information....

Tomb Raider studio Crystal Dynamics has released a new video that not only detailed the beginning of the plans to celebrate the series 25th anniversary, but also gave fans an idea of what to expect from the future of the series. During the video, new Franchise Game Director Will Kerslake spoke on the differences between the Crystal Dynamics origin trilogy—beginning with 2013’s Tomb Raider—and how it told the story of a young Lara Croft and how she became the adventurer we know and love, while the original Core Design games focused on an already seasoned veteran explorer standing alone against cataclysmic forces....

Devolver Digital revealed today that Trek to Yomi will release on May 5 for PC. Square Enix has released the first of three Trials of Mana trailers today. This first glimpse takes a look at Duran and Angela, two of the six playable heroes in the game. Moving closer to launch, Square will presumably release trailers for the remaining characters, which include Hawkeye, Riesz, Kevin, and Charlotte. Duran is described as a “skilled, hot-headed young soldier from the kingdom of Valsena, who seeks revenge against the Crimson Wizard....

Members of the UK video game industry have paid warm tributes to Just Add Water founder Stewart Gilray, who has died aged 51. Gilray, who headed up the Leeds-based developer of Gravity Crash and various Oddworld titles after founding the studio in 2006, was hospitalised with Covid just before Christmas, and after fighting the disease over the last few weeks, passed away this morning. “A lovely, funny guy, family man, musician and game developer running @jawltd,” Jamie Sefton, managing director of Game Republic and Game Makers Yorkshire, tweeted....

Ubisoft has described From Dust as a spiritual successor to Peter Molyneux’s very successful 1989 game Populous, which is largely considered the very first God-sim game to be released. Ubisoft has announced an open world naval multiplayer game called Skull and Bones, which if we’re being honest looks very similar to the naval combat in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. Sony has announced Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, a “fast-paced arcade-style” first-person shooter heading to PlayStation VR. Currently in development at Supermassive Games, Rush of Blood is believed to be a standalone title for PlayStation VR, not DLC for Until Dawn as rumoured last week. Much of the rest of the report appears to be accurate, however, with players sent on a “terrifying rollercoaster ride of thrills and scares” through a haunted carnival....
