As much as I love Star Wars and as much as I love virtual reality, I’ve always been slightly disappointed by Disney’s official Star Wars VR offerings. It’s not that they’re bad, mind. I’ve had a lot of fun with them, especially EA’s Star Wars: Squadrons. My problem is that they always feel like they do the bare minimum when it comes to immersion or run time. I think Disney’s episodic VR games like the Vader Immortal trilogy are a good example of this....

Next summer’s Transformers: The Last Knight is currently filming on the Isle of Skye, with actors kitted out in medieval gear, reports the BBC. The scenes are believed to be part of flashbacks which focus on the Legend of King Arthur and there’s talk that Merlin receives his powers from a Transformer. What appeared to be a dragon was also featured on a poster for the film. The Isle of Skye has seen many a Hollywood movie set up shop, including The BFG and Prometheus....

Project CARS 2 launched a few weeks ago to critical acclaim. But, if you’ve been on the fence about picking it up, now you have a chance to jump into the experience and try it for yourself. Slightly Mad Studios have released an official demo of the game on PC, as well as PS4 and Xbox One. This demo includes three cars, three racing scenarios, and two track variations. Many times, when games get canceled, a number of employees face layoffs as a coincidence of the cancellation. However, this doesn’t appear to be the case with a game canceled by Ubisoft, according to Louis de Carufel, who works at Ubisoft Montreal. In a tweet from Carufel, who works as a graphics programmer at Ubisoft Montreal, the company was forced to cancel a game that had been in the works for about three years....

Valve has introduced a new, live, charts page on Steam. As you may have surmised from the headline already, this page sees all of Steam’s top games bundled together in one place. It will replace the usual Steam Stats many of you may be familiar with. “Today we’re launching Steam Charts, a new section of Steam that is dedicated to showing the most-played and top-selling games on Steam. Including numbers in real time,” Valve said in a statement (thanks, Kotaku)....

Today Twin Engine announced the air date of the second season of the acclaimed anime Vinland Saga. The anime will debut on January 9, 2023, and will be streamed for the west on Crunchyroll and Netflix depending on the region. Alongside the air date, we also get two trailers, one from Crunchyroll and one from Twin Engine itself, featuring the opening theme song “River” performed by Anonymouz. The anime is produced by MAPPA with Shuhei Yabuta (Chainsaw Man; Jujutsu Kaisen; Attack on Titan: The Final Season) reprising his role as director....

Just this past week, Warface received a surprise release on the Nintendo Switch, nearly seven years since the game’s original launch on PC. Now, the game’s developers are hoping that a lack of shooters on Nintendo’s console will result in more people finding an interest in playing the free-to-play title. Developer My.Games purposely released Warface on Switch without any prior announcements or marketing for the port. The company’s head of global publishing, Alexey Izotov, explained that they hoped to show consumers what the game was capable of, instead of simply telling them about it beforehand....
