Valve announced recently that it is creating a standalone version of Dota Auto Chess, the custom game mode used for Dota 2 developed by Drodo Studio in China. Drodo will be developing a version that is not in Dota called “Auto Chess” while Valve will pursue work on the standalone Dota version for release on Steam. This past February saw the formation of the collaborative project come to life, as the Drodo team was flown from China to Valve Headquarters in Bellevue, Washington....

The Steam chat has always been a bit of a pain to use and Valve has taken action and launched their new Steam chat. Discord has done rather well as a chat application with gamers and it’s obviously not gone unnoticed by Valve as the new Steam chat has a very similar feel. With inline pictures, tweets, and video, the new chat is a pretty streamlined experience. There are groups, the ability to invite your buddies to groups, the ability to add channels with link invites, and of course there is still voice chat....
