The Witcher season 2 spell has been woven over at Netflix, with the proverbial coin of renewal having been tossed to the series by the streaming Valley of Plenty over a month before the premiere of season 1. The second season of Netflix’s The Witcher was officially confirmed back in November, and with an 8-episode order, which matches the number of episodes for the hit inaugural season. Production on Season 2 will commence in London in early 2020, with a premiere set for fall 2021....

Microsoft has announced that Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, the enhanced version of 2013’s acclaimed Tomb Raider reboot, is now available to play via Xbox Game Pass. Developed by Crystal Dynamics, Tomb Raider is a gritty origins story of heroine Lara Croft, as she gets her first taste of, erm, tomb raiding, after being shipwrecked on a mysterious island. The Definitive Edition looks the dog’s whatsits too, with Lara’s character model in particular benefitting from some spit and polish....

UK games trade body Ukie has teamed up with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to launch Access November, a new campaign launched under its RaiseTheGame initiative to “create meaningful cultural and behavioural change in UK game businesses”. From Monday 14th November to Friday 25th November, the campaign will offer virtual networking sessions, workshops and presentations, as well as online resources and “some in-person satellite events” to “inspire games industry professionals and companies to make their games more accessible”....

The first story trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been released by Sony and Naughty Dog, with the developer claiming it’s the best trailer in Naughty Dog’s history. In a switch from the previous Ghost Recon game, Breakpoint will require the player to always be online. Ghost Recon Wildlands came out in 2017 with a few twists to the franchise. Valheim developer Iron Gate Studio has announced a slight delay to the game’s planned launch of new content, with the first Hearth and Home update now expected in Q3 2021. Every day brings something new to Riot Games’ hero shooter. On the back of a new closed beta patch, the Valorant team has shared more details on the game’s various cosmetic systems. This includes the store, agents contracts, and the battle pass that will release when the game fully launches. Riot has already revealed a lot of information about Valorant skins and cosmetics. Eight years after release, Portal 2 has received fixes to improve the state of its local multiplayer. Before the 1.0 release of Vampire Survivors in October, the game received about as many updates as one could ask for. Winds Of Magic is the “first” expansion for Warhammer: Vermintide 2, the melee-focused Left 4 Dead-inspired first-person co-op game from developer Fatshark. Winds Of Magic adds new enemy types, a new level, new weapons, and a new season-based mode to the game, refreshing existing content and giving players a reason to come back and grind.
