A streamer illegally showing UFC 246 last weekend received an awkward message during the event that was broadcast to everybody watching his stream. Conor McGregor made a successful return to the octagon over the weekend, his first fight in well over a year. The Notorious One defeated his opponent Donald Cerrone in quick and impressive fashion, ending the fight in a mere 40 seconds. Twitch has updated its policies to prevent the spread of harmful misinformation on the platform. In a blog post, Twitch explains a change to its Spam, Scams and Malicious Conduct Policy, with the goal to prohibit “individuals whose online presence is dedicated to spreading harmful, false information from using Twitch”. As per the community guidelines, Twitch reserves the right to suspend accounts for inappropriate or harmful conduct. Twitch does clearly state that “this update will likely not impact you or the streamers you love on Twitch” and the policy will not be enforced against one-off statements....

Two new Xbox One Wireless Controllers will be released at select retailers worldwide, Xbox has announced. Available in the UK from January 19 is the Xbox Wireless Controller – Red, which features a two-tone matte red finish with gloss highlights on the triggers, bumpers and D-pad, as well as behind the thumbsticks. The controller is available to pre-order from GAME priced £49.99. Arriving February 9 will be the Xbox Wireless Controller Green/Orange, which has the same design as the Red but with orange accents....

Ubisoft says it’s working to “bring the games you own on Stadia to PC”. In a statement posted over the weekend, Ubisoft said it didn’t have “specific details” on the proposal but would share them - along with more information for Ubisoft+ subscribers on Stadia - “at a later date”. “While Stadia will shut down on January 18, 2023, we’re happy to share that we’re working to bring the games you own on Stadia to PC through Ubisoft Connect,” Ubisoft tweeted....

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has gone gold ahead of its May release, Naughty Dog has announced. The announcement means that the game is now ready to enter manufacture, although the studio likely won’t have wrapped up work entirely, with development of a day one patch now likely underway. The developer has also announced plans to release single-player story DLC for the game, which it will likely ramp up development on now the core game is complete....

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is set to explore new territories on PC, according to a invoice reconciliation (IR) document shared by Sony today. Deep in the document under the tag “New Growth Vectors: PlayStation Studio,” there is a section devoted to PC. Under “More PC releases planned,” we see Days Gone, which hit PC last week. And just under it is the unmistakable logo for the fourth Uncharted game....

Uncharted 4 is receiving “PlayStation’s largest ever” software marketing campaign, Sony UK has said, with hordes of digital, print and TV adverts planned, alongside “innovative” in-store marketing that will see Drake “swinging from a real rope”. It’s time for BAFTA’s video game awards and this year the nominations are far more varied than usual. As well as the expected big hitters like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Death Stranding, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the nominations also include Untitled Goose Game, which has gained itself a nod in the prestigious Game of the Year award. Due to COVID-19, Riot Games was forced to postpone a closed Valorant playtest for streamers and gaming influencers. The event was going to give these select players the chance to capture content, which would then be used to promote the game and, supposedly, announce the beta. Riot managed to hustle hard and Rod “Slasher” Breslau revealed that the event was rescheduled for this past weekend. Now that the closed playtest is over, Valorant details are leaking and Riot has announced the the closed beta will begin on April 7....

Focus Home Interactive has announced that Fox21 has snapped up the rights to Vampyr, with the company planning on adapting the blood-draining adventure game for a TV series with Wonderland Sound & Vision and DJ2 Entertainment. Vampyr was released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in June, and according to Dontnod boss Oskar Guilbert, is a ‘fantastic premise for a television show. Visceral Games vice president and general manager Steve Papoutsis has left the studio, EA has confirmed to VideoGamer.com following an earlier report on Kotaku. Papoutsis leaves EA just weeks after the launch of Battlefield Hardline, the studio’s first release in the hit shooter series, and after 15 years at the publisher. Prior to Hardline he helped contribute to games in the Dead Space, Army of Two and Lord of the Rings series....

Thomas Was Alone creator Mike Bithell is aiming to release his second title ‘Volume’ this summer. The top-down stealth game will debut first on PS4 and PS Vita with a PC release to follow.
