Ubisoft has announced it’s working on a new cloud-based game engine for future titles which it has dubbed Scalar. According to the announcement, Ubisoft Scalar will “unlock the power and flexibility of cloud computing” for the company’s game engines. The company claims that it’ll reduce the dependency on player’s hardware and provide new possibilities. Innovative and acclaimed British director Alan Parker, died Friday, July 31, after a lengthy, but as yet undisclosed illness, according to Variety. He was 76.
