At the end of last week, Valve made some changes to the hardware section of the Steam site and the Steam Machines section was moved from prominent positioning. Despite some reports of their complete removal, they were still on the site, just not where they were previously. When the Steam Machines launched there were ten manufacturers supporting the initiative and today that’s down to a mere four. Valve’s idea of an open gaming platform and a console-like PC box did not take off and it’s not surprising as the Steam Machines on offer are overpriced....

Vampire Survivors will leave Steam Early Access on 20th October, with its 1.0 release bringing major new content. Since its release at the start of the year, Vampire Survivors has proven incredibly popular. It’s the third highest rated game on Steam and one of the most downloaded games on Steam Deck. Those logging in today can check their Orbiter for a new Wisp Dex Skin in their Inbox Messages. Xbox’s big closing announcement during its X019 convention opening ceremony was the highly anticipated tactical RPG Wasteland 3. inXile Entertainment didn’t disappoint, debuting a brand new gameplay trailer and also announcing Wasteland 3’s release plans. The trailer teases the complexity of Wasteland 3’s gameplay and snowy Colorado setting. Excited Wasteland fans won’t have to wait too long, as inXile confirmed that Wasteland 3 will be launching May 19, 2020 on both PC and Xbox One....

Wavetale appears to be the final casualty of Stadia’s exclusivity deals. The game initially released on that platform a year ago, but the exclusivity window has ended and now people can play it. However, history has shown us that it’s quite difficult to get much attention after being locked away. Which is a shame, because Wavetale is a worthwhile experience. It’s very short and fairly one-note, but the visuals, world, story, and gameplay are all lovely, making for a pleasant way to spend four hours or so....

Embracer Group, the umbrella company which owns THQ Nordic, Gearbox, Koch Media and Saber Interactive, will donate $1m to humanitarian aid groups in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This donation will be matched by Embracer boss Lars Wingefors, who will donate $1m to Embracer’s “employees and contractors who are directly impacted by the crisis”. Embracer’s donation will go to organisations such as the Red Cross, SOS Children’s Villages and ACT Alliance....

Gearbox is ramping up its trailer rollout for its upcoming looter shooter, and this new video provides details on the Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Season Pass. The pass will include a new class, extra bosses, different challenges, and even more loot. The Season Pass “Part 1” content will be released on Apr. 21, which comes not too long after the game’s Mar. 25 launch date. It’s included with the Chaotic Great Edition of the game, but can also be purchased separately for those who would rather wait a bit to see if it’s something they’d want....

EA and Respawn has released an Ultimate Edition of Titanfall 2, and it’s out now. The sci-fi first-person shooter launched last year to critical acclaim and, rather sadly, poor commercial reception (probably because it was sent to die, launching a week after Battlefield 1). The good news is that this re-release also marks an official price decrease of the game to £34.99, plus all the DLC content released since launch alongside even more additional content....

A free multiplayer trial of Titanfall 2 will be available to download on PS4, Xbox One and PC later this week, EA has announced. The limited time free trial will give players a taste of Titanfall 2’s online modes, and will be available first to EA Access and Origin Access subscribers on Xbox One and PC from tomorrow, November 30. After that, the trial will open up to all PS4, Xbox One and PC players from Friday, December 2....
