The world is talking about the upcoming live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie, and not in a good way. The very first trailer for the ambitious project dropped last month, and unfortunately, it looks just as bad as we were all expecting. Of all the things that appear to be terrible about the movie, the one thing we cannot shake is Sonic himself....

When I first caught sight of Redfall, a co-op action game that features first-person shooting and vampires, I really didn’t think too much of it. Speaking with Yomiuri, Nishida-san revealed that she was actually big into squirrels back then (because why not?), and that Pikachu’s initial Pokemon Red/Green designs drew major influence from these animals, right down to the cheeks, which spilled into the whole electricity angle....

The newfound flurry of complaints comes directly from Senator Marco Rubio and Ron Wyden, with the addition of a few Congress members, most notably Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC). Bandai Namco is hosting its anime games panel from Anime Expo in Lost Angeles and announced the localization of a new game, Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher. The game is coming to the west for Nintendo Switch in 2022 and it’s a “role-playing simulation.” The release will be digital-only in the west. The game was originally announced only for Japan and Asia during the Japanese version of the Nintendo Direct Mini a few days ago....

Probably one of the best games to make a motion picture out of, Uncharted will be coming to the big screen and it will do so under the direction of David O. Russell (The Fighter, Three Kings) under the Columbia Pictures banner. The film will be produced by Avi Arad, Charles Roven, and Alex Gartner. A script was originally penned by Kyle Ward, but was abandoned when Ward was contractually obligated to write a different film and couldn’t meet the time constraints....

Unravel’s EA Access trial will be limited to the first two levels of the game when it goes live early next month, EA has confirmed. Available on Xbox One and PC, the trial will still be playable for a total of 10 hours, meaning EA/Origin Access subscribers will be able to replay the game’s opening any number of times within the time limit, but they won’t be able to progress beyond the first two levels....

Earlier today, developer Spellbook Creations and publisher Valkyrie Initiative shared a bunch of new screenshots for their upcoming open-world action-RPG, Spellmaster: The Saga. While there’s currently no concrete release date for the game as of yet, the fantasy-themed adventure will be making an appearance at Steam’s Big Adventure Event on Jan. 20 – Jan. 24. SEGA has revealed the ‘Valkyria Project‘ to be a fully fledged Valkyria Chronicles 4 today. To get the bad news for PC users out of the way up front, though, our platform is not listed for launch. That’s rather surprising, because the remastered version of the first Valkyria Chronicles is closing in on one million owners on SteamSpy. In case you didn’t hear, Portal 2, one of the most anticipated games of the year, released last week.
