Troy Baker didn’t say no to reprising his role as Rhys in Borderlands 3. It turns out, Gearbox just made it impossible to hire him. Way before Borderlands released earlier in September, we found out that Troy Baker, the voice of beloved character Rhys from Tales from the Borderlands, would not return to be that same voice in Borderlands 3. At the time, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said that Baker was offered the job, but he turned it down....

Microsoft poster boy Phil Spencer has revealed that Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 sold far greater than what the format holder had initially forecast. Spencer confirmed during an interview with Giant Bomb that Rare’s multiplayer plunder-’em-up moved ‘significantly more’ copies than Microsoft’s internal projections. ‘On those two games (Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2), we sold more copies of those games than we expected,’ the executive said....

Game-creation platform Roblox is coming to Xbox One on January 27, it’s been confirmed. The platform lets users create their own games and virtual worlds using blocks of varying shapes and sizes, and play new games developed by others, with 15 user-created games included with the Xbox One version at launch. 2019 has been an eventful year for video game leaks. Most recently, dataminers and vendors revealed the most important changes in Pokémon Sword and Shield during the week leading up to launch. This fueled the flames of fan discontent as all of their greatest fears about the games were made true. That led to hashtags like #GameFreakLied trending on the eve of launch. Now The Pokémon Company is taking legal action to find and punish these leakers for harming fan excitement and “disrupting” the marketing push....

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has been delayed to November to allow the development team to improve key systems. The delay was announced in a statement written by Martin Wahlund, Co-Founder of Fatshark Games, and posted to Warhammer 40K’s Twitter account. Wahlund relayed the team’s disappointment in delaying the game but confirmed that it was a necessary decision to make it the best it can be: Wahlund notes the “great feedback” that the game has gotten so far but it seems that there’s still work to be done on performance and stability....

September is looking a little more drab for co-op games. Developer Fatshark has announced that Warhammer 40,0000: Darktide has been hit by another delay, this time pushing the game until the end of November. Previously, Darktide was held back due to in part to difficulties brought about by the pandemic. This time, Fatshark revealed it needs more time to get things fine-tuned. In the meantime, the studio is preparing for pre-launch betas you can sign up for today....

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 had a bit of a shaky launch. The free-to-play battle royale has had many reports of instability, ranging from friends lists disappearing to just plain crashes. Warzone 2 has another such error, one that reads “we need permission to continue” on Battle.net. Like with some of the aforementioned problems, the “we need permission to continue” error in Warzone 2 doesn’t come with a guaranteed fix.
