Respawn has been doing an excellent job when it comes to supporting Titanfall 2 with free content. Following on from last month’s pretty decent War Games map, Respawn is at it again. Ubisoft has issued an apology for its handling of Shadow Heritage, the latest chapter in the Legacy of the First Blade DLC for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The episode received huge criticism from players as it ignores their choices throughout the DLC and the main game as a whole, forcing your chosen character into a relationship and subsequently having a child. This is despite the fact you have the ability to play Alexios or Kassandra as straight, bisexual, or gay during Odyssey’s campaign....

Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is in trouble, and the concerns began from the start. Revealed in September of 2020, the game sported a graphics engine that left a lot to be desired from a remake. Ubisoft was targeting a 2021 launch, but that got delayed indefinitely following backlash from fans. The company later changed its release window to 2022-2023. Since then, it’s been silence. Until today, as it was announced that Ubisoft Montréal was taking over development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake....
Ubisoft has announced that it is to merge its existing Uplay and Ubisoft Club apps into a new multi-platform ecosystem known as Ubisoft Connect, that will bring together many of its games across multiple platforms when it launches later this month. The new system is said to aim “at giving the best environment for all players to enjoy their games and connect with each others whatever the device” and will offer up cross-progression and even potentially cross-play in future live service Ubisoft titles....
Ubisoft’s much-delayed The Settlers reboot has resurfaced once more, bringing with it a new name - it’ll now be known as The Settlers: New Allies - and a 17th February 2023 release date on PC, with console versions to follow. This latest release date marks Ubisoft’s fourth attempt at getting its Settlers reboot out the door; when the publisher first revealed it was revisiting the series’ much-loved city-building and real-time strategy formula back in 2018, the reboot was expected to arrive in autumn the following year....
The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has laid out a timeline for its second phase of investigations into Microsoft’s proposed $68.7bn acquisition of Activision Blizzard, following concerns this deal could be deemed anti-competitive. New documentation from the CMA states that its statutory deadline to publish the final report will be 1st March, 2023. As such, the final deadline for all parties’ responses regarding this investigation will be in February....
With scrutiny on skin gambling at an all time high after high profile cases involving prominent YouTubers, the UK Gambling Commission has published their annual report on gambling habits and practices in the UK, and for the first time the industry regulator looked at the practice of skin betting and specifically how the practice effects 11-16 year olds. In their findings as reported by the BBC, the Commission surveyed just over two and half thousand 11-16 year olds and found that 55% of them were ‘aware of’ the practice of betting with in-game items or skins, and that 11% of them had indulged in the practice itself....
Developer Toby Fox had a surprise indie hit on his hands with the launch of Undertale. The game made its mark by giving you the ability to not kill any enemy over the course of your entire playthrough. Fast forward to yesterday, when Fox released a string of cryptic tweets hinting at a new game being announced. Today, Fox revealed Deltarune — an obvious reworking of the letters of Undertale — a free-to-play game that you can download now....
Lo-fi indie RPG Undertale is finally heading to Xbox consoles later today, it has been announced. The announcement on the Xbox Wire reveals the Toby Fox-created adventure will at long last be landing on Microsoft’s consoles, but will also be available immediately via Xbox Game Pass and be joined a couple of days later by top-down mafia strategy title Empire of Sin on March 18. The game—which recently celebrated its fifth anniversary—is something of a cultural phenomenon by this point, but in case it has escaped you so far; it’s well worth picking up this adventure that sees you finding yourself in a world of monsters, and what starts off as a traditional turn based RPG soon becomes anything but....
Valve has added a new Dynamic Cloud Sync feature to support its forthcoming Steam Deck. The feature allows for seamless save file transfer between PC and the portable Steam Deck device. “We anticipate that users will frequently suspend their Steam Deck without exiting the game, as is common with other hand-held gaming devices,” reads a post about the feature. It means players won’t need to exit the game on one device to play on the other....
