When Call of Juarez: The Cartel was revealed to be abandoning the signature old-timey feel of the previous two iterations many gamers balked at the idea of this modern day sequel. Then, when the game’s drug-busting storyline was suggested, the Ciudad of Juarez stepped in to attach another negative connotation to the game. Since then, developer Techland has unleashed a flurry of details about the game, including 3-player co-op throughout the entire campaign, and things began to look up for The Cartel....

The mysterious Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars has broken cover and been given a release date for next month by Square Enix. A card-based RPG, the game takes place in a world of swords and sorcery. You’re a bounty hunter, setting off on a journey to slay a dragon threatening the land and its people for glory and riches. Along the way, you’ll meet a friendly monster named Mar and a black witch named Melanie....

Watch Dogs 2 dropped to No.6 in the UK video game chart on its second week, but Black Friday promotions meant the game actually recorded stronger sales than at launch, reports GamesIndustry. Launch week sales for Watch Dogs 2 were reported to be way down on the first game. “It is true that first-day and first-week sales for a number of big games, including Watch Dogs 2 and titles from our competitors, are comparatively lower than previous versions in previous years,” commented Ubisoft....

Everyone who’s played Mortal Kombat 11 will likely agree that it’s gore is on another level. Children and elderly folk should not be allowed near this game, yet a (presumably) innocent couple were made to go through the ungodly carnage by their son and have probably come out of this experience worse for wear. The Witcher season 2 has started filming, with some scenes being filmed near Dorking, UK. Twitter use PalaceProud was able to snap some shots of The Witcher season 2 filming in action, revealing the new look for the character Filavandrel, an elf character who appeared in one episode of the show’s first season. When viewers of The Witcher season 1 first see Filavandrel, it is set during the past timeline, meaning that many years have passed since Geralt encountered him....

Henry Cavill has recovered from the injury that halted production of The Witcher Season 2 and is teasing fans about a potential next project. The star recently posted a picture on Instagram of himself in hair and makeup, but also showing a small section of a page with blurred-out writing. The internet has done some investigating, and it’s believed that the text Cavill is reading is about Mass Effect. In the caption of the Instagram image, Cavill teased fans by suggesting the words on the page could be a secret project, or they could be completely random....

In a not so subtle allusion to a Nintendo Switch port, Ron Gilbert has tweeted footage of Thimbleweed Park running on a Switch console, using the touchscreen functionality and everything. Whilst this video has no explanatory narration, just the game’s audio, it’s cool seeing the classic nine verb menu and inventory working with a touch screen. Gilbert discussed his hopes for a Switch release earlier in the year, and now it seems that everything is coming together nicely....

Steep originally looked to be a spiritual successor to the popular SSX series. However, Ubisoft aimed for realism with Steep over arcade action, and the addition of wingsuits and paragliding helped set new boundaries. Respawn has confirmed that Titanfall 3 is no longer in development. Any and all assets that they were working on for the anticipated sequel have instead gone into the development of Apex Legends. The free battle royale came as a surprise to many Titanfall fans, as they were assured that a sequel was in the works after EA bought Respawn back in 2014. It’s not happening now, however.
