It might be no surprise that I grew up as a fan of Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Blizzard Entertainment has poured cold water on reports that the popular dungeon crawler would be getting cross-play support in the near future. The World of Warcraft developer was responding to a story from last week, where a representative for Diablo III told Business Insider that cross-play support for the game is a ‘question of when, not if.’ However, it seems this was a bit of an exaggeration. Ubisoft has announced the launch of Ubisoft Quartz, a new platform for it to integrate its own energy efficient version of near fungible tokens or NFTs into its games. The system will debut in beta form within Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint on PC and will comprise of a certain number of cosmetic items. Each item is named a ‘Digit’ and will be stamped with a unique serial number. The record of who owns each item will be stored on blockchain, a technology independent from Ubisoft....
