Pre-orders for The Witcher 3 climbed by 500,000 in the week before release, bringing the total number to an impressive 1.5 million. The game’s success was described by CD Projekt’s CEO as a “historic achievement” for the company, which only announced that the game had secured 1 million pre-orders last Monday. “Just a week ago we announced that one million customers from around the globe who preorder on Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” CEO Adam Kicinski said in an interview with Polish site Money....

Following July’s announcement that Ubisoft would be “decommissioning” the online portions of some of its older titles on 1st September, the publisher has said it’s postponing the move to 1st October in many cases, and that Anno 2070 will now escape unscathed. Ubisoft originally announced that 15 titles that would be affected by the move: Anno 2070, Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed 3, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Driver San Francisco, Far Cry 3, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Rayman Legends, Silent Hunter 5, Space Junkies, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and ZombiU....

GfK ChartTrack reports that 2K’s BioShock 2 has entered the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart at No.1, becoming the biggest release of the year so far. BioShock 2 becomes 2K’s first No.1 since the release of GTA 4 back in April 2008. Ubisoft’s Just Dance sticks at No.2, followed by FIFA 10 which climbed to No.3 thanks to retailer promotions. Sony has officially announced Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, a compilation of all three original Uncharted titles heading to PS4 later this year. Due for release on October 9, The Nathan Drake Collection includes all three PS3 Uncharted titles remastered in 1080p/60fps, along with additional improvements to lighting, textures and character models. A Photo Mode is included, too. The collection does not include PS Vita release Uncharted: Golden Abyss or the multiplayer components of Uncharted 2 or Uncharted 3....

A nominally-sized computer security company called Uniloc, who specializes in copy protection, is suing a group of much larger companies. The defendants include Sony Corp. of America, Activision Blizzard, McAfee, Inc. and a few others. The lawsuit alleges that these defendant companies have been infringing on Uniloc’s patent system for registering software....

The Valheim team at Iron Gate AB has released a new update for the game. No, the update does not include mention of the developer buying another horse.
