Ubisoft has pulled the plug on the first live event for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which should have kicked off yesterday. The first live event was meant to have players scrapping with an Epic Mercenary known as Damias the Indifferent, a nasty-looking chap sporting a huge mace-looking thing. That didn’t happen sadly, with technical issues forcing Ubisoft to cancel the event. Still, players didn’t have reason to think something was up, as in-game notifications for Odyssey said he was available to hunt down....

Valve have posted another piece about their efforts to get people to use Steam user reviews in the way they intend. This latest change, currently in beta form (though I’d anticipate it being the norm soon), addresses ‘helpfulness’ ratings. Half-Life: Alyx is one of the most highly anticipated releases of early 2020. But there’s just one issue, which is that Half-Life: Alyx is exclusive to virtual reality headsets and relatively few PC gamers have one. Valve’s doing what it can to change that, offering its own Valve Index VR headset for sale. Limited stock, however, has prevented many wannabe Half-Life: Alyx players from picking up a headset yet, but that may change soon....

I love throwback first-person shooters. Regardless of if we’re talking sprite-based or crude polygons, seeing these styles of games continue to show up makes me happy. Viscerafest, which enters Early Access this week, is set to be a three-episode giblet jamboree with over 20 levels. As of now, only the first episode is in, with the rest coming in additional updates. There are some unique elements at play here that I don’t typically see in games like this, plus one that appears to be directly lifted from another game....
War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius has just celebrated its 2.5 year anniversary, and it’s quickly approaching that big three-year mark. It’s been a while since we last checked out Warhammer: Chaosbane. Releasing late in May, I was able to review it, though I did note that the endgame felt quite lackluster. On top of that, progressing through the story campaign was akin to a slog due to repetitive environments and maps. Still, developer Eko Software plans on delivering more content for its fan base. The latest Warhammer: Chaosbane update is one such example of that....
Ah, time trial games. They’re usually pretty light on content, but there’s just something about racing against the clock to try and get better times. Warstride Challenges combines typical time trial elements with old-school FPS mechanics for something that’s notably different than what’s familiar. The game enters Early Access today, bringing with it a bunch of levels and some pretty demanding trials for players to overcome. The game will stay in Early Access for the next year or so, with plans to receive new levels and features as development comes to a close....

Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific Season Two began with new content for players to jump into. The roll out of new content continued throughout the season with the Rebirth Reinforced event, which allowed players to finally access the golden vaults. However, players began to notice that they were not earning the correct amount of battle pass XP for their matches. Publisher Nacon and developer Cyanide Studios have released a new trailer for upcoming action RPG Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood. The game, set in the World of Darkness universe, sees you take on the role of Cahal, a Werewolf who’s able to change during gameplay between one of three forms: a human, a fast-moving, stealthy wolf and beast-like hybrid of the two known as a ‘Crinos’ for combat. You’ll also have access to a ‘Penumbra Vision’ in all three modes which allows you to see plan out your attacks by highlighting foes and deadly silver weaponry, which you’re naturally weak against....
