Fan-made film projects are pretty commonplace these days as they give up-and-coming filmmakers the opportunity and the freedom to stretch their creative muscles while helping to get their name out there. Some stick closely to a well-trodden formula, like this capably crafted Silent Hill fan-made short, while others put a twist on proceedings by, say, turning a popular and beloved cartoon into a dark and horrific tale, replete with guts and gore....

Earlier this week, news came out that three members of ZA/UM, the developer responsible for the hit 2019 game Disco Elysium, had departed from the company. A recent Medium post written by the Disco Elysium editor, Martin Luiga, confirmed that Aleksander Rostov, lead artist, Robert Kurvitz, writer and designer, and Helen Hindpere, co-writer, were the three developers who left. This evidently means that they will play no part in the development of the much-anticipated sequel to Disco Elysium....

Torchlight Frontiers, which was first announced in August of 2018 as a free-to-play MMOARPG, has been revamped and will now be released as a mainline title for series. Rebranded as Torchlight 3, the game will be moving away from the free-to-play model in favor of a “one-box” price instead. Echtra Games CEO Max Schaefer says the decision to make the switch was brought about by feedback from their Alpha testers, as well as internal discussions at the company....

This past week has been a rollercoaster of emotions for Twitch streamer Viperous. On November 8th, Viperous discovered she had received a seven-day ban for saying “nerd” due to Twitch mistakenly believing that she had instead said a “hateful slur.” Luckily for Viperous she had video proof of her innocence, and she quickly shared the clip of her supposed slur for the whole world to judge. Naughty Dog has announced plans to replace Uncharted 4’s ‘Triple Pack Expansion’ with a new ‘Explorer Pack’, which it says will provide players “with even greater choice on which items they prefer to own”. In an update on PlayStation Blog, lead game designer Robert Cogburn explained that the developer will “continue to hand-pick content included in the Triple Pack” for those who have already purchased the expansion or continue to purchase the game’s Digital Deluxe version....

Three multiplayer armour models for Ellie have been found hidden within the files of The Last of Us Part 2. Content creator Speclizer discovered the files tucked away within the game. While there is a chance these armour models for Ellie were intended to merely act as placeholders during The Last of Us Part 2’s initial multiplayer development, it is interesting to see what Naughty Dog was working on before its multiplayer became a standalone game....

A repeat-offender broke into Valve Corporation’s Bellevue headquarters, located just east of Seattle, and reportedly stole over $40,000 worth of electronics. The burglar, 32-year-old Shawn Shaputis, currently has six warrants – and if he misses his scheduled arraignment hearing – he’ll receive yet another. This isn’t Shaputis’ only crime either, as he lead police on a high-speed chase from Bellevue to Seattle in a stolen FedEx truck in July of last year....
