PDXCON 2019 has wrapped up, with Paradox Interactive revealing a bunch of new games and expansions coming to PC. One of the big announcements was a return to the World of Darkness in Summer 2020 with the Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood, a single-player action role-playing game (ARPG) developed by Cyanide. The World of Darkness is a fictional universe that was created for supernatural horror-themed role-playing games. Earlier this week, Trine publisher Modus Games announced a new story add-on for Trine 4, out of nowhere. I’m not sure exactly when truck driving became its own subgenre, but I’m not complaining. SOEDESCO’s upcoming Truck Driver is a little bit Stardew Valley and a lot a bit American Truck Simulator. The game works off the premise that your father has left you a truck. You take that as a sign that it’s high time to pack up and start a new life of long-haul driving. The game looks like a good solution for those who want a little more role-playing in their truck games....

Nintendo has announced that glorious 90s shooter Turok: Dinosaur Hunter is coming to the Switch. Turok was originally released for the Nintendo 64 back in 1997, and next to GoldenEye, was one of the best shooters for the cartridge-based system. I played the hell out of the game back in the 90s, although I wasn’t really any good at it. Maybe it was due to all that mist that covered up the environments....

Russian tech giant Rambler is suing Twitch for a total of 180 rubles ($2.87 billion USD). The company claims that Twitch has allowed users to re-stream matches owned by Okko Спорт, which is part of Rambler Group. This is the second legal swipe Rambler has taken in less than a week. Last week, web hosting company Nginx offices were raided by Russian authorities after Rambler claimed to own rights over its open-source code....

In an update to this afternoon’s story, Assassin’s Creed Infinity has now been confirmed by Ubisoft, with the company outlining the future of the series in an open letter to fans. The update from Ubisoft confirms that the Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Quebec studios that led the last two Assassin’s Creed games will now be working together going forward on the project, saying that “Rather than continuing to pass the baton from game to game, we profoundly believe this is an opportunity for one of Ubisoft’s most beloved franchises to evolve in a more integrated and collaborative manner that’s less centered on studios and more focused on talent and leadership, no matter where they are within Ubisoft....

The highly successful developer, Ubisoft, known for creating video game series such as Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs, and the Tom Clancy games, announced earlier this week that it’ll be adding crossplay to all of its pvp games. The company’s CEO, Yves Guillemont, made the announcement during the FY2020 half-year earnings call, saying that work on crossplay is well underway and that every multiplayer Ubisoft game will carry the feature “over time”....

During the Oculus Connect 5 conference, the company revealed Vader Immortal Episode 1, a new Star Wars VR series for Oculus Quest. The story series was written and executively produced by David S. Goyer, who wrote Batman Begins (great) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (not great). The series, which will be told in three parts, is set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. ‘Whether it’s hearing Darth Vader’s breathing behind you and physically turning to face him in person or wielding a lightsaber with your own hands, Vader Immortal captures the ultimate wish fulfillment,’ said Oculus head of experience Colum Slevin in a statement....

Valheim‘s anticipated Hearth & Home update finally touched down around two weeks ago. Naturally, the developers at Iron Gate AB are still busy with tweaks to get it just right. However, that doesn’t mean the team can’t spend just a little bit of time to get into the festive spirit. The latest Valheim patch will not only reduce stamina drain with melee weapons, but it comes with a Jack-o’-turnip you can craft to get into the Halloween mood....

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered will launch for PS4 in the Americas and Europe on May 17, SEGA has announced. The remastered edition promises 1080p/60fps visuals, and will include all of the original DLC, dual Japanese and English audio, and trophy support. There was a noticeable amount of fanfare regarding Vampire: The Masquerade during its initial table-top release. It later found a new audience when it morphed into video game form with 2004’s Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. For Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, the story of vampire factions and gothic tales still runs rampant, especially as it’s told in the streets of Seattle. Volume, the next game from Thomas Was Alone creator Mike Bithell, will release on PS4, PS Vita and Steam on August 18. The top-down stealth game is described by Bithell as a “stealth game about being heard”, tasking players with distracting guards and sneaking their way through each level without being spotted. Players will also be able to build their own levels using the in-game level editor. Bithell joined us to talk about Volume on an earlier episode of Piss Morning where he discussed how he’d built on Kojima’s vision for vision cones....
